Daville Baillie Gallery takes pride in celebrating Africa Day with its Africa Day Showcase, incorporating examples of some of the finest artistic works by important South African contemporary and modern practitioners.
Africa Day presents an opportunity to celebrate the artistic talent of the country by exhibiting exceptional visual art that is accessible and speaks to the experience of ordinary people in our dynamic sociopolitical setting.
The artistic contributions provide a journey across the late 20th Century and into the new century, one in which iconic artists reflect on change and its impact on the individual. Collectively the works on the Daville Baillie Africa Day Showcase provide a vivid portrait of the South African people.
