Addis Fine Art will be presenting the works of Michael Tsegaye, Addis Gezehagn and Wosene Worke Kosrof at 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair.
1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair is a leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. The title of the art fair draws reference from fifty-four countries of the African continent. This is the fifth edition of the fair and has been a major platform for promoting artistic engagement, contemporary dialogue, and exchange. It was initiated in 2013 by Touria El Glaoui. In 2016, about 40 exhibitors presented the works by 130 African and African diasporan artists. This year, exhibitors from about 32 countries will be presenting the works by 130 emerging and established artists. Participating countries include: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Cameroon, Canada, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Ghana, Haiti, Italy, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Portugal, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Togo, Trinidad, Tunisia, UAE, the UK, the US and Zimbabwe.
This year, 18 galleries will be dedicated to Africa while 11 new galleries are introduced for the first time. The fair will also witness a collateral exhibition program and host ‘Forum’ an extensive talks program that include film screenings, artist conversations, and panel discussions involving various international artists and curators.
The fair will be held from October 5-8, 2017 at Somerset House, London.
