A unique experience is coming to Franschhoek gallery, The Art In The Yard, this October and you don’t want to miss out. Visitors can can enjoy one-of-a-kind art creations from three local artists who utilise embroidery in innovative ways to produce amazing works of art.

The exhibition opens on Friday, 26 October at 6pm and ends on 25 November 2018, the immersive works of Vanessa Berlein, Sheeka Kalan, Lerato Motau will be on display for local connoisseurs to enjoy as part of Art Franschhoek.

Berlein’s work is inspired by her early childhood, learning about rock formations from her father, who was a geologist and a farmer during the gold rush in the 1800s.

Her work reflects not only the silhouette of the formations she came to love but also the struggles and hardship of labourers fighting to earn their bit of gold to survive. Read more
