Just 1 week to go until the opening of Turbine Art Fair 2023 (TAF) in its new home at Hyde Park Corner from 27th to 30th July 2023 in a stylish rooftop setting, promising an unforgettable art affair.

As South Africa’s beloved and accessible art fair, TAF has garnered a reputation for showcasing contemporary art from both emerging and established artists. It has become the epicentre of emerging art in the country, bringing together galleries, artists, and curators from across South Africa.

Founder Glynis Hyslop expressed her excitement about the upcoming event: “TAF has always been more than just a traditional art fair. We pride ourselves on creating a sensorial experience where art becomes an event, engaging and immersing visitors in a dynamic celebration of creativity. Our move to Hyde Park Corner allows us to take this experience to new heights.”

The fair has continuously championed emerging artists and galleries, while also showcasing established artists, making it an inclusive and accessible platform for all. Visitors have embraced TAF’s ethos over the years, building a trusted relationship with the fair as a safe space to acquire high-quality South African contemporary art.

TAF 23 –will feature over 30 exhibitors and 10 special projects, presenting a diverse range of art from various disciplines, including secondary market dealers, print studios, artist organisations, collectives, and project spaces. This exceptional line-up aims to connect emerging and mid-career artists with both established and aspiring collectors and audiences.

At the heart of TAF’s success is its commitment to education and fostering dialogue within the South African art market. The highly anticipated TAF Talks, curated by Palesa Segomotso Motsumi, promises to be a gathering of visionaries in art, sustainability, design, music and fashion. The programme aims to propel the discourse forward and enlighten art enthusiasts on various aspects of the art world. The talks will be open to the public free of charge on a first come first basis.

One of the highlights of TAF 23 is the collaboration with international fashion superstar Thebe Magugu, who will explore 11 cultures through a major installation in the centre court of Hyde Park Corner, featuring 8-meter long dresses inspired by South African cultures.

The forum company, Steenberg Wine Farm, and Don Julio have partnered to give visitors to the fair a unique and curated hospitality experience.

TAF 23 promises to be a celebration of art, culture, and innovation, providing an engaging and immersive experience for art enthusiasts, collectors, and visitors alike. We can’t wait to see you at Hyde Park Corner!
