Art@Africa, whose flagship gallery resides at the Clocktower Center at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, has opened a sculpture garden in Franschhoek. Franschhoek is a town in South Africa’s Western Cape province that features centuries-old vineyards and Cape Dutch architecture.
The sculpture garden at Art@Africa-Franschhoek features 3-dimensional installations by South African artists.
Art@Africa has created an internationally recognized platform showcasing extraordinary South African artists.
The unique site features trails that wind through flowers and exquisite views over Franschhoek Valley.
The placing of artwork considers the site, creating an experience of discovery for the visitor. In the Sculpture Garden, the exhibition, Four Seasons, aims to represent various practices currently taking place in the region, including artists working with the figure, mythology, abstraction, and post-minimalism.
The sculptors Marke Meyer, Theresa Jo, Marco and Andre Prinsloo, will be the first to be found in the Franschhoek Sculpture Garden
