Omni Inaugural Auction Results:

A great beginning such as what transpired over a 1 day, 3-session auction of in excess of 650 lots, presents newly formed Omni Fine Art Auction House, as a formidable player on the South African Auction Calendar.

The team presented their auction floor with much flair, and had significant viewing throughout. There was in excess of 250 registered local, national and international bidders, with on line bidding available on the-saleroom.com as well as invaluable.com.

Results were impressive for the newly established institution, with a sale through rate of just short of 80 percent. As an auction house, which represents all genre of collection, each department did exceedingly well. Highlights from jewelry was a Victorian snake necklace, estimate R20000 – R30000 that sold for R168000. A pair of 19thC chairs belonging to Eleanor Esmond White, estimate R4000 – R6000, selling for R15680. A Dunhill aquarium table lighter sold for R40320. However as Omni says, its not all about the big show-off figures, its about doing well on good quality and rare items, connecting buyers and sellers in a professional but friendly and all-inclusive manner.

Having exceeded their targets for their inaugural auction, the next component to launch is their monthly catalogue SELECT auctions. Their following PREMIUM auction takes place on 25th July [these will occur every 3 months].
