Michaela Younge, Cat riding a donkey

Look out for exceptional works by bright young talents like Banele Khoza and Michaela Younge. Khoza’s ghostly figures in his signature palette of mostly pink and blue are well-loved by contemporary art collectors. In September 2017, Khoza won the Gerard Sekoto Award at the ABSA Art Gallery and in 2018 he headlined a solo exhibition titled, LGBTQI+: Banele Khoza as part of the Curatorial Lab at Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town. Award-winning Younge creates rich tactile works in merino wool on felt. In 2022 she presented a solo booth as part of the curated Tomorrows/Today section at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, receiving the section’s most promising Artist Award.
