Our favorite South African weirdos are back with yet another flaming project on their hands, and this time it involves skateboarding. Working together with their long-time artistic confidant, American photographer Roger Ballen, Yo-landi and Ninja produced imagery for a couple of skateboards which are now featured on The Skateroom, a nonprofit that collaborates with prominent artists, such as Ai Weiwei and Shepard Fairey, to create limited edition artwork on skateboard decks.
The boards created by Ballen feature some of his iconic photographs that are said to “explore the rich and weird universe of the artist, offering a glimpse into Ballen’s art and psyche.” Other decks are adorned with new images of Ninja, Yo-landi and artist Paul McCarthy …read more
