Investec Cape Town Art Fair is pleased to announce the participating galleries in its seventh edition, taking place from 15 to 17 February 2019 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). Investec Cape Town Art Fair is set once again to offer a unique cross-section of the art market, representing the forefront of contemporary art globally.
An increasingly large contingent within Investec Cape Town Art Fair is made up of prominent galleries based in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. These galleries are well-established internationally, representing exciting, established and emerging artists with a presence in museums, biennials, and art fairs around the world. International galleries returning to the Fair include Perrotin (Paris), Galleria Minini (Brescia), Galerie Cécile Fakhoury (Abidjan), Galleria Continua (San Gimignano), Circle Art Gallery (Nairobi), Officine dell’Immagine (Milan), Gregor Podnar (Berlin), First Floor Gallery (Harare), October Gallery (London), Galleria Giovanni Bonelli (Milan), Addis Fine Art (Addis Ababa), and Afriart Gallery (Kampala).
There is also an influx of international galleries participating in Investec Cape Town Art Fair for the first time, such as Templon (Paris), MAGNIN-A (Paris), LOOM Gallery, Ayyam Gallery (Dubai), Retro Africa (Lagos), Lia Rumma (Milan), Omenka Gallery (Lagos), and Montoro12 Gallery (Rome), and Edoardo Secci Contemporary (Florence).

Investec Cape Town Art Fair also serves as the hometown fair of local galleries with a significant international presence. Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2019 will see new presentations by leading South African galleries including Goodman Gallery, Stevenson, Everard Read CIRCA, Gallery MOMO, SMAC Gallery, WHATIFTHEWORLD, SMITH, and Blank Projects. Alongside their presentations at ICTAF these galleries, each pillars of the art scene in Cape Town and South Africa at-large, will form a captivating, week-long programme of exhibition openings and events within their gallery spaces.
Tomorrows/Today, the section of the Fair which aims to place a spotlight on emerging and under-represented artists, will be curated by Fair Curator Tumelo Mosaka once again. The artists presented in Tomorrows/Today are each positioned to be tomorrow’s prominent names in contemporary art.
The second iteration of the SOLO section, will explore the effects of the digital world on artistic production and our lived realities. SOLO aims to present a more in-depth look at the artistic practices of a varied selection of artists, each with different aesthetics and contexts, at differing stages in their careers, and unique perspectives on each edition’s thematic focus.
