Your last chance to face-off against other artists to win a prestigious title, invaluable exposure and prize money of R100 000. Entries close on Thursday 13 July 2017 at 15:00. Sponsored by Sanlam Private Wealth in partnership with Durbanville’s Rust-en-Vrede Gallery, the country’s leading portrait competition is now in its third year. It celebrates the intricate art of portraiture. This year’s esteemed judging panel includes artist Peter Monkman, curator Nkule Mabaso, as well as artist and lecturer Carl Jeppe.
The winner will be announced at an exclusive gala at the Rust-en-Vrede Art Gallery on Thursday 24 August 2017.

Only permanent residents of South Africa
Entrants must be 18 years or older
Adhere to the specific size and texture requirements
Paintings should have been completed after 1 January 2017
