A new art museum, specifically for art from Africa is starting to rise from the dust in Pretoria. The Javett-UP Art Centre will be located on the south campus of the University of Pretoria, with a bridge connecting it to the north campus.

The art museum will house the permanent Javett collection and the Mapungubwe gold collection as well as rotating collections from African Artists.
