The Strauss & Co Series of Presentations and Discussions opens with an interview with Minister Gayton McKenzie, conducted by Dr. Ismail Mahomed, Director of the Centre for Creative Arts at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The discussion will cover the Minister’s vision of 'Business Unusual’ at the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, his five-year target, and the challenges faced.

Janice Honeyman Mandie van der Spuy
Janice Honeyman will receive the 2025 Legacy Award for her remarkable 55-year career spanning drama, comedy, indigenous stories, classics, opera, musicals, and her beloved annual Pantomime. After receiving the award from Mandie van der Spuy, a member of the FynArts Advisory Board, Janice will engage the audience in an informal, entertaining discussion about her life, called Bio-Natter.

Mary Sibande Ngkopoleng Moloi
Mary Sibande, the 2025 Festival Artist, is a key figure in contemporary African art. Ngkopoleng Moloi, editor of ArtThrob, will talk to Mary about her life, inspiration, and her thought-provoking exhibition, I GOT UP AT..., which will be on display in the FynArts Gallery.

This year ten women artists have created artworks for the Sculpture on the Cliffs exhibition which will remain on the cliffs for the next year. Join Sandra Hanekom, artist and curator, for insights into the artists’ inspiration, creative vision and their interpretation of this year’s theme, Echoes from the Edge.
