From 12 May 2018 until the end of July, NIROX Foundation in South Africa will host Not a Single Story – The Winter Sculpture Exhibition , co-curated by Elisabeth Millqvist and Mattias Givell, the leadership duo behind the Swedish sculpture park The Wanås Foundation – Wanås Konst. The exhibition is an exchange between sculpture parks on two continents looking at individual artistic practices as overlapping dialogues and bring forward contemporary concerns and working methods related to sculpture.

Not a Single Story NIROX Winter Sculpture Exhibition 2018
”The danger of a Single Story”, a quote by Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie from her Ted Talk is the starting point of the exhibition and inspiration for the title. Wanås Konst and The Nirox Foundation both have focus on living artists and process. The works made on site become part of an ongoing archeology of a place. Whether they are wishes, voices or memento mori in stone, the works raise awareness and questions about the present and a possible future…. read more
