Picasso Crayon Drawing Sells for R3 Million

Last night at Stephan Welz and Co’s Cape Town auction, Pablo Picasso’s 1954 crayon drawing, titled Au Cirque, reached a hammer price of R3 Million. The first original Pablo Picasso drawing to be auctioned in South Africa only just managed its pre-sale estimate of R3 – R3.5 million (still a tidy sum for an artwork of its kind)… More on this story when the auction closes later today.
