Queensland town hopeful eco-art project will boost tourism

A mother-daughter duo from remote north-west Queensland have begun plans to build the region’s first ecotourism sculpture trail, to help raise awareness about local biodiversity. The Eco Art Sculpture Trail will be based in Nelia, a four-person township located 600 kilometres west of Townsville. Georgi Westlund, the co-ordinator of the Nelia Small Community Enhancement Reference Group, said she hoped the installation would encourage spectators to consider the natural heritage, and any possible human impact… Read more
