Russian buyers inject confidence into Old Master market

There was no shortage of highlights and record prices during the Old Master sales in London last week, demonstrating how lively this market is when good quality material appears. At Bonhams there was a quadruple-estimate record £1.1 million paid for a characterful English Civil War period self-portrait by the lesser known British artist, William Dobson.
