Sovereign Trust Announces Three-Year Deal to Support Cape Town Art Fair

Wired Communications:

Cape Town:  Sovereign Trust (SA) Limited is delighted to announce a three-year partnership with leading exhibitions group Fiera Milano to be an associate sponsor of the Cape Town Art Fair (27 February-02 March 2014 at The Pavilion, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town).  This deal also, importantly, signifies Sovereign’s commitment to increasing its activities in Africa, both in respect of the Trust and the group’s corporate services.

Sovereign Group chairman, Howard Bilton said: “Sovereign has a long history of supporting the arts, principally through its 11-year sponsorship of The Sovereign Art Foundation (SAF). This sponsorship has helped the SAF to raise over US$4-million to assist disadvantaged children in some of the poorest areas of the world.”

The Sovereign Art Foundation will have a presence at the Cape Town Art Fair with an interactive stand at which children will be invited to colour in their own ‘art viewing glasses’, which can then be worn to view the artwork on display at the Art Fair.

Coreen van der Merwe, Managing Director of Sovereign Trust (SA), said: “We are very excited about being part of the Cape Town Art Fair. We will not just be playing a role in helping African artists to develop their careers, but we have also committed ourselves to giving something back to the community by raising funds to assist disadvantaged children locally – something which we take very seriously.”
