Museum Moments – part of Strauss & Co’s Zoom Talkabout Program
Strauss & Co is pleased to announce Museum Moments, a new addition to its popular weekday Talkabouts on Zoom.
Scheduled to occur every Wednesday from 4pm to 5pm, the series aims to draw attention to South Africa’s great diversity of museums focused on art. The aim of Museum Moments is to provide a platform for South Africa’s public and private museums at a difficult moment, when public access is restricted. Expect fascinating insights into the history of each museum, their architecture, historical collections, vision and activities during the Covid-19 health crisis. Each dialogue session will focus on a single museum.
Museum Moments will begin with a focus on the Stellenbosch University Museum, which recently collaborated with the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape on an exciting exhibition of post-war art as part of the inaugural Stellenbosch Triennale, of which Strauss & Co was a sponsor. Museum Moments will then travel to Pretoria to the Javett Art Centre, to Cape Town to the Norval Foundation, to Pietermaritzburg to the Tatham Art Gallery etc. Museum Moments forms part of Strauss & Co’s commitment to supporting South Africa’s vibrant network of museums
