Museum Moments
Strauss & Co is pleased to announce Museum Moments, weekday Talkabouts on Zoom.us every Wednesday from 4pm to 5pm.
The series puts the spotlight on South Africa’s great diversity of art museums in the time of Covid-19 when physical access is restricted. Expect fascinating insights into the history of each museum, its origins, its architecture, its collections, its vision and activities.
Museum Moments began two weeks ago with a focus on the Stellenbosch University Museum, which recently collaborated with the University of Fort Hare on an exciting joint exhibition of post-war South African art that formed part of the inaugural Stellenbosch Triennale, of which Strauss & Co was a sponsor. This week we featured the new Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria (Javett-UP) and shared insights into their opening exhibition of 101 of the most iconic works of art from museum and art institutions across the country.
